“Buying food in a store or restaurant is the culmination of a long process, of which all but the end product is delicately screened from our eyes. We buy our meat and poultry in neat plastic packages. It hardly bleeds. There is no reason to associate this package with a living, breathing, walking, suffering animal. The very words we use conceal its origin: we eat beef, not bull, steer or cow, and pork, not pig - although for some reason we seem to find it easier to face the true nature of a leg of a lamb.”—from Peter Singer: Animal Liberation (new edition)
As I’m neither gathering beautiful photos on the internet nor buying/reading any fashion magazines recently, my blog has a drought period again.
I apologize to those who follow this blog.
It will be updated more often after some nights of nerdiness that only unfolds when I know I have at least two free days in a row, loads (yeah, LOADS) of tea and soy milk and my pc and internet of course. (noticed there’s no hint to when this will be…?)
It’s still hard for me to take time on things evenly, the whole thing isn’t really balanced out. I need time for things like my blog, books, magazines, my drawings. Sometimes I forget this. I just forget it and then I start feeling uncomfortable and restless. And then I get too restless to concentrate on these things. It takes time to calm down again.
